As December rolled around, it was the same angels that led her back through the forest. They chided her gently, falling to the wind as it swept across the mountain. The same angels were hidden in the gaps of snow, wings drawn from the dirt beneath the hollows. She breathed life into the halos even as her insides bled and burned, blood coating the inside of her mouth.
