Chiaki comes home with the boyfriend she'd been missing for almost 2 months now in tow. It's like life is back to normal, despite the fact that he's been turned into a robot -- by who, they don't know, but that's okay. What matters is, he's back, and alive.
She tells herself it is the same, but it isn't. And she's going to have to learn that or risk returning to the misery she has undergone once already.
