Summary
But he refuses to shut himself away in a corner and hide. Two can be stubborn and immovable, and he *will* have the full use of his own Triumvirate’s Blackwagon, stars all be damned. (A rare curse-- this pettiness must be getting to him more than he had thought.)
So it is that one cold and rainy night, somewhere in the middle of the Deathless Tempest, Volfred is sitting in the kitchen of the Blackwagon over tea and his pipe as Hedwyn emerges from his shared quarters.
or, volfred sandalwood offers an odd reassurance.

Summary
It seems everyone else is fast asleep, for even the drive-imps have ceased their gibbering. In the silence that follows, Jodariel’s gaze wanders around the room, painfully alighting on each left-behind item of Hedwyn’s. Little bruises being poked. She stares at his empty raiments, wondering what’s to become of them now, almost long enough to forget her company, who is now looking at her with a sad smile.
“Fancy a once-in-a-lifetime chance to second-guess the Reader’s decisions?” the Reader says.

Summary
After the monumental success of the Plan in overthrowing the corrupted Commonwealth and the slow, but universal effort in the establishment and maintenance of the Sariah Union, Jodariel's life was finally granted a form of normalcy that she hadn't seen in years, and frankly never expected to see ever agin.
She had a stable and enjoyable job, lived in a modest but comfortable home, kept in touch with both her former fosterlings as well as her fellow ex-nightwings (in one way or another), was in a healthy and happy relationship with a certain red-skinned demon who had refused to leave her alone after they stumbled across one another after the Revolution, and for the first time in a very, very, very long time, was genuinely happy and content with both herself as well as her life.
But when an infant is abandoned on their doorstep and must spend 3 moon cycles with them before being taken in and put up for adoption, will Jodariel and Ignarius keep their distance and hand the child over when the time comes, or will they give in to their subconscious desire for a third addition to their little family that they never knew they wanted? -

Summary
“My work here is not yet done,” she says, voice smoke-rough. “Choose another to return.” Then, anticipating the Reader’s dismay, making an effort to gentle her voice: “So eager to see the back of me, are you, Reader?”
“Certainly not,” she retorts, and, to Jodariel’s surprise, she edges closer, resting a light, uncertain hand against the ridge of Jodariel’s shoulder. “If you do not yet wish to return, I would not force you. And our victory is not assured, anyway. I’d—only wished to encourage you to think on it.”
“I have thought,” Jodariel says, tersely, though she makes no effort to pull away, to move aside, to break contact; indeed, some of the tension is draining from her at the Reader’s touch, as those gentle fingers curl against her shoulderblade. “I have thought a great deal.”

The Reader is VERY flustered by Jodariel bc she's a big gay. So is Jodariel actually.
Literally just the most self indulgent smut possible because sometimes there's only fifteen fics in the tag and you gotta write the giant horned lady smut you wanna see in the world.

Summary
The Downside is unkind to those who dare to hope.
Either hot enough to scorch the flesh, or wet enough to scour paint from clapboard, or else so cold, an errant gust could freeze the skin, the landscape is unforgiving, the terrain, treacherous, the Triumvirates, ruthless.
The Rites, absolute.
Options for surviving the Downside are as vast as the horizon, a circle and thus infinitely broad. Yet the Reader knows each choice must be made with the utmost caution, for the footprints the Nightwings leave behind are as important as the Path they follow. They’re part of the same journey — the story of the Scribes. Of those who return in glory, and those who remain in exile to the end of their days.
The Rites have, perhaps, turned the world into a cruel and at times inhospitable place. The thing, considers the Reader, that makes it all bearable is the love that moves in sync with the cadence of forgiveness, sings in tune with the melody of liberation, and dances in rhythm with the music of companionship.
A love that moves the Stars and the soul both...
