Summary
After making a vital mistake that cost Odin his reputation, Heimdall was banished to Midgard to forever live in the Lake of Nine as a monster, his voice having been taken from him so he may never dare utter another mistake like he had in Asgard. Now a mermaid who has been stuck there for far too many winters, Heimdall is bitter, eating whoever dares cross his waters, until he finally meets his match.

It had been three days since Loki caught the common cold. Refusing to rest, Heimdall took matters into his own hands. Not because he wanted to become the brat's personal nurse, of course, but because of what the All-Father would say if Heimdall sat around and let the brat get even sicker.
Alone in his home, the two grow ever-so slightly closer. Heimdall tells old babysitting stories to pass the time all while Loki sneezes into his best furs.

So, it's more out of a feeling of obligation than him actually wanting to be there that ends up at the man’s big pretentious party. Yet, an unexpected turn might make his troubles worthwhile. Making Atreus reevalutate a lot of things. His feelings regaridng Heimdall first and foremost.
