'Invitation to the Game' follows Lisse and her group of friends, but we only get the briefest glance at Phillip's group towards the end of the book: we don't get to know them outside of how they eventually relate to the main characters. This fic tells us their story. Like in Invitation to the Game, Eden slowly develops a warmth between its characters that stands in gentle yet defiant contrast to the grey desolation of their dystopia. This was a nostalgic holiday read for me that brought me right back to a story I loved as a kid.
