“We’ll find her, Gricko. Don’t worry.”
As soon as Kremy stepped outside Frost’s magical barrier, though, he vanished, as if swallowed up by the darkness surrounding their camp. Gideon let out a furious cry of “Kremy!” and raced after him, and he disappeared too.
“It’s okay, it’s okay,” Gricko mumbled to himself, trying desperately to believe it. “I-it’s gonna be okay… right, Frosty?”
He looked up just in time to see his best friend being snatched away from him by a pair of hands made completely of darkness, and he stared in shock at his hand, which had been holding onto Frost’s paw not even a second ago.
Gricko fell to his knees. He was alone. -

Summary
The familiar aura of Frost’s magic swirled around him, and his yellow eyes and solemn face were stony with concentration. Suddenly, though, the spell broke, and his expression dropped into something filled with fear.
“That’s not Gideon,” he called to Kremy, whose heart fell into his shoes. “There’s some sort of outside influence causing him to do this. It seems he believes the three of us are his enemies.”
On the one hand, Kremy was relieved. If Gideon wasn’t in the pilot’s seat at the moment, it meant he was still in there somewhere, and he didn’t really want to kill them all. On the other hand, though, that meant Gideon wouldn’t hold back. He never did with those he felt deserved to be called his enemy. -

Summary
It was nice, in a way, to have a moment of quiet. Life was chaotic, and it threw things at him that he didn’t expect. Why shouldn’t he have a moment away from it all? The people that surrounded him had loud voices, and the sky above his head was too bright, and his entire body felt like it was on fire, and the iron taste and smell of his own blood was sickening— and all of it combined was a bit too much, to put it lightly. Frost just couldn’t handle that right now. Even he had his limits.
