Summary
Charlotte "Charlie" Rogers-Stark is a twenty-four-year-old archaeologist uprooted from her life when a psychotic ex tries to ransom her life for the safety of her family. Well, if you're raised by the Avengers, laying down and giving in is not something you can just do. Out of a need to keep her safe from this new threat, her parents send her to Asgard, the only place in the universe Adam can't reach easily. Reluctant to leave, she agrees and leaves her life and research behind in the name of keeping her parents happy.
However, things quickly deteriorate on Asgard. Loki, having his magic returned to him shortly before her arrival, is assigned as her bodyguard to further his own search for redemption after his actions against New York. It's safe to say these two do not like the arrangement. Soon though, a new threat pops up to threaten Asgard and the people they both hold dear. Once questions arise about Charlie's own mysterious origins, Loki and Charlie strike up an odd friendship to find answers. Here's hoping they don't kill each other in the meantime!
(All events after the Avengers do not happen in this universe, so it's slightly AU.)

Summary
The loss of Jane during the birth of her son to Thor took its toll on everyone despite the known odds that were against her giving birth to a divine child. It's when a sudden war breaks out across Vanaheim that the child loses both parents as his father leaves to lead an army. With their options slim it is decided that as a project of rehabilitation, both for the tiny child and Loki, he is to be placed in the supervised care of his uncle.
Eventual Thorki hints/angst.
