Summary
It was over. The Mimics were dead. He had won. He had fought his body then, the same as he had fought the Alpha, all oxygen having gone from his lungs. His mouth gasped open, lungs filled with water. Eyes open past the bubbling pain, like thousands of needles settled within his chest. He let his eyes drift closed, the blood circling his arms, crawling up his face, over his mouth. His lips set into a satisfied smile as his body had drifted numb, his eyes closing. Distantly, he felt the blood enter his mouth, over his nose, and finally into his eyes. His eyes shot open, the blood painting his sclera black as it sought to cover every inch of him, to wrap him in its embrace, lower him down into the watery tomb.
And then, he had gasped awake. Lungs filled with air, free of smoke, and the buzzing of helicopter blades around him.Or, a look into what really happened after he woke up for the last time on the edge of tomorrow.
