Prompt: Timeskip!
It is years later and Pinocchio is now a young man, living in the modest household that Gepetto left for him (along with his life savings, his wood carving shop, and their old cat, Figaro). In honor of his late father, he has taken up the humble wood carving profession and it is a pleasantly simple life, albeit a bit lonesome (well, except for Jiminy and Figaro's company of course).
Meanwhile, the curse of Pleasure Island has just been broken. It doesn't have to be specified how, but it could be implied that the Blue Fairy finally answered the star wishings of hundreds of little boys who'd been transformed into donkeys and helped them save themselves. Bottomline, all the boys, now young men, have been transformed back and returned to their home towns to seek out their families.
Unfortunately, Lampwick has no remaining family.
Thus, the Blue Fairy turns him in the direction of a certain wood carver, whom she trusts to be helpful and welcoming to Lampwick in dealing with what has happened to him.
After all, they'd once been 'best friends'. -

Prompt:
Alice/Pinocchio
In Wonderland, Alice meets a strange puppet boy; he'd fit right in with his unusual form if it weren't for the fact that he appeared perfectly sane... and kinda cute, too!
