In the aftermath of the Battle for Chicago, Queen Mab of the Winter Court decided that Harriett Dresden, the Winter Knight, and Lara Raith, the true queen of the White Court, should be married to settle the alliance between their two factions.
At least, that was her publicly stated goal. Like any true Sidhe, she had a backup plan that she may have been angling for all along, which would go along with fewer protests from all the parties involved.
