Bringing his lips dangerously close to Richard’s, he exhales hot air onto his face, “Do you want to kiss me?”
Richard nods and leans forward to close the distance. With his eyes closed, he doesn’t see Connor poised to strike. The jab hits sharp and fast, jerking Richard’s back in his chair. Eyes flying open, he sees Connor’s tongue swirling around his thirium pump regulator held delicately between a forefinger and thumb.
“You didn’t come here for kisses,” Connor’s voice is low, his lips stained blue. A countdown appears in the corner of Richard’s field of vision and vanishes with a static pop when Connor slides the pump back into place.

Cyberlife used RK800 to make their perfect creation: RK900. Connor is more than a little angry about it.

“I have watched you, every moment since I was awakened,” Nines whispers. He reaches out, red and blue blood mingled and drying on the fingertips he places under Connor’s chin, and Connor doesn’t know why he lets his head fall back at the slightest pressure, baring his throat to Nines’ feral gaze. “Trying to understand you. My predecessor. My prototype.” His thumb brushes Connor’s jawline, against the bare plastic in a rough spot where his skin won’t reform, and the touch sends a deep, hot shock through Connor’s battered frame.
“Everything I am is an improvement on you.” A tiny press, and Connor lets his head tip to the side. “All your parameters, all your abilities, meant to be perfected in me. And yet you consistently, continually react in ways I cannot understand.” Annoyance, anger, frustration, all the things he should be feeling are bubbling through the back of Connor’s mind, somewhere distant: he can’t think past Nines’ fingers on his exposed chassis, grazing against the damaged seams and loose wires in the soft spot where his jaw hinges.
(Information goes bad. A stakeout goes wrong. People get hurt. Androids get hurt. And Nines and Connor stumble into something new)

They have a long day ahead of them. A full schedule. Much to do. For Connor the ultimate mission is to ensure the uncontested success of the RK800 program. To be the best, most efficient, most discerning investigator and forensic scientist in existence. To completely outclass humanity in every aspect of crime scene investigation. To bring to bear the full potential of science and technology in the pursuit of criminal justice.
Shortsighted, mercurial, and ultimately dismissive of Connor's striking abilities, the CyberLife board failed to realize that the RK800 would discover their intentions. Yes, he knows about the RK900 project, and he will do all that he can to sabotage and annihilate his replacement.
And to do this it is imperative that he endears himself totally, utterly, and irrevocably to Dr Elijah Kamski, to exploit his human weaknesses wherever they are found.
Or: Spring 2028, Connor weasels his way into becoming Kamski's personal assistant, gentleman valet, and maybe more, if he can accomplish his mission. (Can be read standalone.)
