At work, they weren't supposed to be father and son, just the Branch Manager and one of his subordinates, with all the responsibilities that the arrangement entailed. Anything that seemed to suggest otherwise had to be some sort of test, because that was just how his father had worked throughout the years.
So when Solle ended up arguing himself into taking the responsibility for some of his boss' "needs", he figured the only way out was to follow through.
