Summary
James Harris has lived 400 years in service of Black Iron Mountain, the society that all creatures of the night serve as it feeds off of the human population and dominates the earth. He has followed their rule to the letter and without complaint, creating a life he prefers in the tiny southern town of Mt. Pleasant. Then one night the Mountain's council requests something of him that he never expected: procreation.
