Kabru has never spent this much time with a vampire before. Spending the night while not touching. Stuck in the dungeon, Mithrun looks like a wounded animal. Clearly starving but not attempting to eat. He has no urge to nourish, his eyes dull in the dim light.

“See?” Mithrun calls out, waving the now-limp bouquet of flowers in his hand for emphasis. “They have no effect on me.”
But before Kabru can so much as breathe a sigh of relief, Mithrun suddenly doubles over and sneezes. When he rights himself again, his face is flushed, and there’s a dazed unevenness to his gait.
“Nevermind,” says Mithrun, blinking rapidly now. “It seems I’m aroused.”

Kabru breathed out, as evenly as he could. This wouldn't be the first time him and the Captain had shared a bed, far from it. But Mithrun sure was becoming more intuitive with his desires. And what had constituted touching for the necessity of taking care of him, had been turned on its head and developed into something much more curious, intimate.
It was sweet.
