Summary
You’re a military field medic turned science experiment. After being stationed at an evacuation sight, quarantine is breached and the infection spread through the Vanna Hotel. Now you and four other survivors need to make your way to a safe zone for evac. A certain white suited man seemed to make it his mission to confuse you with his distrust, but care about you more than anyone ever has before in your life. Will the group survive the grueling journey, or will you lose someone along the way? Will your heart survive the flaming rollercoaster of lust and love? Is it worth trying to survive such an awful new world or will you give in to the inevitable?
He gently wiped the tear from your cheek and leaned in, so his nose touched yours. You could feel his light breath caress your lips as he spoke, “The living should never envy the dead, princess.”
*This work is currently on hiatus. Unfortunately, a mixture of being sick, writer's block, and a new job has taken it's toll. I am still working on this, but it will definitely be a moment before I'm able to get an update out. Sorry everyone :(

Hooded figures prowling in the bushes and on the rooftops awaiting the perfect moment to pounce onto their next unsuspecting victim. Taller ones with a hundred-foot-long tongue to snatch people up and drag them to their asphyxiated doom. Others bloated and ready to release bile unto those who were already in dire need of a shower. Gangly ones with stretched limbs and the ability to spit balls of acid from up to thirty feet away. Manic ones that scuttle around sporadically until they jump onto your shoulders to drive you around wherever they please and laugh away at your misfortune. The tough walls of meat that’ll barrel toward you at top speed and crush you with their larger and much more useful hand. The even bigger and badder walls of meat and muscle to bring about strength enough to throw entire cars and pieces of the road itself at you. And the poor, poor girls that never stop crying… until they do, making you wish they never had.
And yet CEDA still has the audacity to call it a flu.

Hearing the speaker blare someones voice, telling you to go to the top of a hotel to be saved. You do so with four other people, hope leaving your body as you reach the top of the building. How's life gonna be knowing these people?
