Summary
Oscar tells him he is doing a good job breathing. He whispers his thanks, but the praise doesn’t sink in right. It sits on top of his skin, burning. He is trying to let himself enter the floaty headspace that always makes him feel safer. He breathes out, squeezing his eyes shut, trying to find it. His chest is heaving, and it feels like his heart is trying to escape his body.

Oscar should’ve known.
Oscar should’ve known, from the very first second he saw him. Perhaps he was shocked, after not seeing Lando for the last 15 years, some details flew over his head, but everything was so clear now…Lando’s plump lips and his perfect cupid’s bow, his vivid ocean eyes and doll eyelashes, his perfectly curled hair, the way his honeyed skin glistened under the evening sun, or his heart shaped smile when he laughed. It was all so clear … but Oscar couldn’t make sense out of his friend’s ethereal beauty up until now.
Lando is standing right in front of him, pure white wings displayed gracefully on his back, delicate feathers slowly falling on their living room’s floor. Oscar stares in awe, and Lando stares back, confused.
“You— you can see me ?”
