Summary
Mt.Ebott Shock (MEBS) is caused by a shock to a monster’s system from a lack of magic surrounding them. Similar to how a human’s body would react to altitude sickness. The monsters living in Mt.Ebott, having been highly condensed with magic that was held in by the barrier and fuelled by the core, had adapted to take in a high amount of magic over the generations. However, with the barrier broken and everyone moving to get far away from their prison, the MEBS epidemic amongst monsterkind began. Though slowly. Starting with the weakest, like Sans. Exerting all of his energy and not being able to regenerate HP like normal monsters, have led to him being one of the first victims of MEBS.
