Summary
After World War II, Arthur took a long time to think about how he behaved and how he wanted to behave. The past two wars had really forced him to realize that any of them were able to fall easily. That idea made him worry the more that he thought about it. It seems that this same thought was much more intense for Francis.
Arthur never forgot the interactions he had with Francis after the war, nor will he ever forget just how defeated he looked. Sure, Francis was happy that his country was free once more. However, the weight of his experiences and immortality make him question himself. -
