Summary
He knows the expression he would find on Bobby’s face if he were here now. It’s a mirror of his own, in some ways. Eddie had always felt he could reach through to Bobby and pull out a part of himself. So he conjures that image up in his mind, lets himself be soothed by the idea of Bobby’s sure smile, by the gentle set of his eyes, the proud nod of his head. He listens to the whistles of the wind and imagines Bobby’s voice floating among it, drawing parallels between his journey to Athena and Eddie’s journey to Buck, and he knows he came to the right place, knows he’ll find something here that he couldn’t find back home.
OR: before Eddie can tell Buck how he feels, he has to make a visit to a grave in Minnesota first.

Summary
Buck’s been good, he has. He’s taken all of his desire and yearning and need to touch and look and feel, and left it in his locker at work, festering with the sweat stained T-shirt he was supposed to wash last week. He clocks in, makes sure it’s all still tucked in there safe from Hen’s all too knowing eyes, and goes about his day.
Except right now, he looks at Eddie, and he wants.
It’s just—here, with Eddie’s feet tucked under himself on the sofa, his face reflecting soft orange hues from the sunset pouring in through the window, and the sounds of Christopher laughing down the hall where he’s FaceTiming his friends in his room—it feels like forever. Like it used to, before everything went to shit.
OR: after Eddie kisses Buck to keep him alive during the high rise collapse, he tells him they can’t be together.
