Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes are trapped.
Stuck in an empty New York City, the two Super Soldiers must find a way out, but their own minds are causing them to be trapped.
In order to leave, they have to remember the childhood friend they left behind. If they don't remember, they're forever trapped with monsters created out of their insecurities and nightmares. If they do, they're able to leave.
But the empty city doesn't want them to remember their friend, and it'll do whatever it takes to make them stay.

“Bucky,” you began, “I will stay as long as you’ll have me.” Bucky let himself grin, wild and unabashed.
“Well, I’m not planning on letting you go,” and he leaned down to kiss you.

The reader is a past Avenger and new member of the previously titled Thunderbolts. Moving back into the tower she used to live in was not what she expected, but seeing her old friend Bucky Barnes made the process much easier. If only she knew that he needed her as much as she did him.

With the tragic deaths of your friends Howard and Maria Stark, you're assigned to Project Ghost — a task force dedicated to taking down this HYDRA super weapon that led to their demise.
And then in 2011, they discover Steve in the ice.
