Summary
Without discussing it, Gerard begins to adjust around him, lowering his voice, guiding him toward quieter corners, offering water, space, time. Ray notices. He just doesn’t say anything. One evening, after a grueling soundcheck, they end up sitting on the curb behind the venue, sharing a bottle of lukewarm water.
“You always get quiet after long days,” Gerard says casually.
Ray shrugs. “Just tired.”
