Summary
Buck realises that he and Abby will never work out. So as a celebration/solo pity party for himself he goes to the one place that he can completely be himself. It's a small bar, run by his friend justin, that caters to veterans, but especially the ones of the queer variety. When a handsome stranger, who turns out to be a probationary firefighter walks in, it feels like his luck might have turned after all.
Or; What if Buck and Eddie met in a bar for queer vets? what if they felt free enough to be themselves, because they knew the other would understand? What if, instead of falling in an instant friendship after the fated grenade in leg, they fell together earlier, in a whole different way? Feat. Buck being a Navy SEAL, Eddie being less repressed, falling in love and finding a family

Summary
“You’ve been running,” Buck observes.
Buck doesn't stand so Eddie collapses next to him.
“Without me.”
He manages to sound both offended and worried.
“Without music,” Buck adds, alarmed now.
Eddie sighs.
“I’m fine, Buck.”
“You know who runs without music? People plotting elaborate revenge plans, people in film montages, people who are psychopaths, and people who are not fine.”
(Or: the universe gives Eddie a cat and he learns to accept joy into his life again)
