Summary
Reincarnation is a complicated matter, as the secrets of its workings are a mistery yet to unravel. The slayers who freed the world from the demon threat receive a second chance at life; to live peacefully, comfortably, without recollection of the pain that they once endured and the sacrifices that they once made.
However, the reencounter of former acquaintances sets fate in motion and the boundary between two lifetimes starts to fade. Ultimately, recovering the memories of their past might be the key to face the emergence of a new threat - or perhaps, the resurface of an old one - and change, in the current lifetime, the tragic outcome of the previous one.

A sudden chill distracted his focus, as he noticed the breeze was getting stronger and colder due to the late afternoon hours. The golden sunlight was starting to fade, the moon would soon make its appearance and he would have to start his journey back. So, he decided, it was time to address the elephant in the room.
“One more thing.” He started, taking out and unrolling the parchment he’d been carrying between the folds of his yukata. “A letter, Kochou? Really?”

“Kochou.” It was the Water Pillar, this time, the one to break the silence. “Why are you not participating in the Hashira training?”
Her giggling stopped and, this time, she did lock her eyes to his. “And how do you know I’m not participating, Tomioka-san?”
“Tanjirou said you weren’t offering any specialized training like the others, and that he hadn’t heard any news from you in a while.” He explained, “Neither had I, since the last Pillar meeting.”
Shinobu hummed, and her eyes narrowed slightly. “You mean the Pillar meeting when you too refused to participate in the training?” She replied, raising an eyebrow. “And in a very rude manner, if I may add.”
“I’m not rude.” The Water Pillar frowned, offended.
“Oh, really?” She asked sarcastically, “You six figure it out, this doesn’t concern me. I am not like you.”
With his own words being thrown back at him, at least he had the decency to look embarrassed. The Water Pillar turned away from her and his gaze lowered.
“You know what I meant.” He said, and Shinobu felt her chest contract.
“Yes, I know.”, she answered softly.
