Summary
Before this moment Carl had promised himself not to feel anything, stand his ground. After all, there was a reason he hadn't turned up to Peter's gig. Saying it and seeing Peter, usually so imposing at his full height, curled to the floor, are two different beasts and despite it all, Carl can't help himself. Filling a glass at the kitchen sink, pulling his shoes off his feet, he wanders, quietly, over to where Peter is sat. Carefully, he gets to his knees. Almost as if approaching a wild animal, Peter has always been an unpredictable thing after all.
