Brandenburg claims his prize: the duchy of Prussia is now his bride but their marriage is not the happy partnership Brandenburg has promised. Prussia is still a child, and Brandenburg works to keep him one.
A series of drabbles and ficlets exploring their relationship and all the lies, betrayal and turmoil it's plagued with as they claw each other for dominance. Tag warnings in the chapter titles or notes.
I am adopting Doomspiral's human name of Dietrich because it is absolutely perfect but our Brandenburgs may happily have their differences. I only write incidentally so please excuse me for any fuck ups <3

A collection of loosely connected drabbles based on the aftermath of the Battle of Grunwald. More or less exploring Nyo!Prussia's relationship with Nyo!Poland + Nyo!Lithuania and her struggles to recover from a childhood of war and reconnect with her humanity. A little heavy on exposition and I'm only a little sorry.

“Thor begins to chatter, making plans for the afternoon – half-baked suggestions, soon made and quickly discarded. It is plain that he has left the treasure room and Father’s story far behind. Thor is forever leaving things behind, whether they are objects like his cloak or boots or wooden practise sword, or ideas, memories, and thoughts. His mind is not lingering on the snow and ice of Midgard and the brutal cold of Jotunheim as their father had described it. Nor is he paying attention to anything other than himself, and so Loki is the first to see their mother standing just outside the treasure room doors.”
After Frigga overhears Odin telling a young Thor and Loki about Asgard’s war with Jotunheim, she takes the opportunity to teach Loki an important lesson. Unfortunately the lesson he takes away from their conversation is not the one she had in mind…
