Summary
I won’t like the answers that come with those baby blues. I should leave now. Return to base. Submit myself for reset and cryo.
I’ve never had the ability to turn away from him, why would I now?
My brain starts to itch again and I involuntarily close my eyes and rub my temples with a grunt. I hear a distant echo in the back of my head.
“How ‘bout you? You ready to follow ‘Captain America’ into the jaws of death?”
“Hell no. But that little guy from Brooklyn who was too dumb not to run away from a fight… I’m following him.”
I try to give it context, an explanation… but it fades quickly and runs through my hands like water… then it’s gone.
“What now?” I ask, skeptical.

When Steve awoke he wasn’t sure where he was at first. Everything was fluffy around him. It took him a moment to open his eyes and focus.
He was in his room, in his bed and he was...surrounded by pillows?
Steve blinked and looked around. It seemed like every pillow, cushion and soft furnishing in his apartment had been dumped on his bed. Actually, no, not dumped, he realised. They’d been placed all around him, forming a sort of cocoon. He looked round at them all and his eyes found Bucky, sitting on the floor at the side of the bed, knees up to his chest, arms wrapped round them, watching Steve.
