Buck made sure they were sitting together on the really comfy couch. Buck could see Eddie struggling in the dark, rubbing his eyes. Gently, he touched his arm. “Give me your beer,” he said, gentle.
“Greedy man,” mumbled Eddie.
“Did you sleep last night?”
He shook his head.
“And you’d just come off a shift. Eddie…”
“I can’t be rude.”
“You’re not,” he said. “I’ve got you. Promise.”
First, Eddie rested his head near his shoulder, not on it, but Buck reached down to trace the back of Eddie’s hand where no one could see, resting in between them. “It’s okay, I’ve got you,” he whispered softly when Eddie rested his head on his shoulder.
