Summary
Suguru likes to go to the bakery with Satoru because he likes to watch the way Satoru’s eyes go big as he stares at the cakes and pastries and points, like a child, at all the ones he’s going to buy.
But today is different because he is not in line with Satoru.
Instead, he’s sitting on a park bench, legs spread hilariously wide so that no stranger decides to sit next to him. He’s sitting, waiting by himself, staring up at the sky and trying not to go insane.
Because Suguru loves him.
And yet nothing's changed.
It's not until he hears the call of his name, until he's turning, until his eyes find Satoru—
That he realizes where it is that his existence has shifted.
