Summary
In the aftermath of the Riddler’s “cleansing” of Gotham city, the Batman works tirelessly to keep crime in check and assist the civilian population. An exhausted Bruce Wayne turns his efforts towards humanitarian relief for his city.
Things can never be quiet, however – a series of bodies start showing up in various locations in the Narrows, Gotham’s bottom of the barrel district. The masked crusader and Lieutenant James Gordon unite their efforts to catch the killer while also struggling with a corrupt police force. The case reveals complex ties to Gotham’s sex trade and reinforces the unfortunate truth that in Gotham trust is inadvisable.
A new tragedy strikes Gotham just as the situation is starting to look better – a terrible accident at the travelling Haly’s Circus leaves nine-year-old Richard Grayson orphaned. Suspecting sabotage, the boy goes looking for answers and runs into the mysterious Batman, also on the same track. Things get complicated when Bruce Wayne accepts Dick into his home, but there is a front of healing for all parties involved.
Time runs on and heals all wounds. Despite everything that might happen, the sun always comes back up. Stay put and feel the sunrise on your skin.

Summary
The mission was simple: infiltrate, retrieve the intel, exfil.
But everything went sideways. Now stranded deep in hostile territory, You—sharp-tongued, unshakable, and strictly self-reliant—finds yourself paired with the last man you expected to survive with: König. Towering, silent, lethal. A ghost in the field. A mystery in every other sense.
Wounded, hunted, and cut off from command, you have no choice but to rely on each other. But survival breeds closeness—and closeness comes at a cost.
Because when the dust settles, neither of you walks away untouched.
Or:
Two soldiers.
One broken extraction.
And the quiet devastation of realizing you can’t go back to being alone.Bookmarked by AdventureHobbit3791

Summary
Bilba has been a slave her entire life. All she knows of the outside world is what she sees from time to time outside the gates of Moria and the stories her mother used to tell her. Stories of a place called the Shire where her mother once lived and a placed called Erebor where, as far as she knows, her father still lives. Stories of dragons a thousand times larger, and more intelligent, than the beasts the orcs rode and of a strange concept called freedom where one was allowed to live as they wished with no one to tell them what they could, or could not do.
The stories meant little to Bilba. The only future she had was to live, and die, as a slave as countless number had before her.
And then the orcs dragged an injured female firedrake through the gates, her rider screaming obscenities behind her as he fought to reach her side...and everything changed.
