Ngay từ ban đầu, Francesca không có ý định tới Ý để làm “bảo mẫu” cho tuyển thủ Kageyama, chỉ vì cô biết tiếng Nhật không có nghĩa là cô sẽ làm việc với tuyển thủ Nhật. Dẫu cho cô luôn tự nói với bản thân như thế, song sự thật là cô chỉ dùng nó để hoa mỹ lý do của mình. Francesca tới Ý là để tôn trọng (hoặc ít nhất là cố gắng chấp nhận) lựa chọn của mình. Hơn 6 tiếng từ Washington D.C, cô đã có đủ mọi cảm xúc từ day dứt, dằn vặt, thậm chí là sẵn sàng quỳ dưới chân cha mình và cầu xin để được quay về. Cha cô thì đơn giản hơn cô (hoặc ông cố ý làm thế, ai mà biết được chứ, cha có đến hàng ngàn mặt nạ và chiếc nào chiếc nấy đều hoàn hảo như nhau), nói rằng tới Ý và làm quản lý cá nhân cho Kageyama sẽ là dấu chấm nhỏ tuyệt vời cho resume của Francesca, thay vì cứ bám đuôi theo ông như một đứa nít ranh chưa dứt sữa.
Trước kia, Francesca không nghĩ tuyển thủ, cầu thủ thể thao cần có quản lý, nhất là những môn đồng đội như bóng chuyền, một quản lý chung cho đội bóng là đủ. Nhưng dù là gì đi nữa thì Francesca đã nhận việc, thế nên cô cần phải làm tốt nhiệm vụ của mình là được.
