Dina wakes up slowly, standard morning light filtering in through the cracked window as the breeze carries the faint scent of fresh grass over the bed. She stretches lazily, muscle memory kicking in as she arches her back, toes reaching toward the footboard until her joints pop softly.
Turning to her side, she finds Ellie already awake, propped up on one elbow. The morning sun catches the reddish glints in her messy auburn hair and illuminates the dusting of freckles across her nose.
