Summary
At the age of eight, Viserys Targaryen is left for dead. Abandoned on the streets of Braavos, a chance meeting with the Golden Company will see him turned from Targaryen princeling to cunning sellsword and leader of men.
But as he grows, first cadet, then squire and knight, Viserys learns that he – his family – owe the world more than fighting the wars of other kings. The legacy of the Bittersteel and his own mad father might have set Viserys on a path to be the next conqueror of the Seven Kingdoms, but under masters of war like Blackheart Toyne and honourable warriors like Marq Mandrake, a scared little boy will learn to value brotherhood over violence, and that he need not choose honour over love.
From the canals of Braavos to the tall grass of the Dothraki Sea, from the endless starry night of a winter beyond the Wall to the war-torn deserts of the Dornish Marches, Viserys will fight. Viserys will fight for coin, his friends, and even his family, all so he might one day return to Westeros and face his brother and the war he began.

After Robert Baratheon's rebellion, during a catastrophic storm on Dragonstone, Queen Rhaella, died trying to calm little Princess Daenerys's cries. The queen had been ill after miscarrying what seemed to be a mix of human and dragon. The storm shattered ships, and from that day on, the girl was ill-named "Daenerys Stormborn." That very night, the two princes fled, knowing the terrible fate that awaited the Targaryens now that the deers had risen. In that war, many children understood the difference between a cat and a dragon.
In short; Viserys and Daenerys will conquer with blood and fire. Changing the entire game of thrones, and in the process, changing the hearts of many. We will see the great world of Westeros from different points of view, full of betrayals, love, war, and a great deal of confusion. In the heart of a great prophecy of fire and ice, winter flowers are born from the snow, and the dragon's three heads rise again.
#This is my adaptation of all published A Song of Ice and Fire books, along with the TV series. It has its own ending that moves away from the show’s horrible finale.Bookmarked by Aidoann

He had changed while he was away, short as it was. He was a little taller, his shoulders were broader, his hair was longer and curlier than Baela had ever seen it. He smelt of the familiar scent of dragon, but also something she couldn’t recognize. The North lingering on him, she supposed.
When she pulled away and saw the look in his eye she knew without doubt that he knew. She had thought about writing a letter herself, but the words had not come to her, and she didn’t know if it would make a difference if it was from her than Rhaenyra or- more likely- the maester. There was only so much comfort to be put into a letter.
“I must report to the Queen,” Jace said, his voice a little hoarse. His eyes were red rimmed as well but she had a feeling that they had been dry for a while in the same way that Rhaena had cried that night and in the morning rubbed at her puffy eyes and declared herself done with it. They were at war now. There was no time for tears.
