Lauma startled, realizing it was an offer for help. Slowly, almost tentative, she took it. Vilemina’s hand was warm against her own, soft and gentle. She suddenly became aware of the scars littering her skin.
Vilemina helped her up, smiling briefly before letting go. Lauma missed it already.
