I had tried to nod along, but she talked so quickly it was difficult to engage while also comprehending the words leaving her mouth.

   “Your dress is really nice, and don’t worry, you don’t look like a freak. Everyone in here is so obsessed with themselves, they’ll barely notice what you're wearing.” I promise.

   “But you did.” She looks at me, as if I were a puzzle piece she didn’t know where to place.

   “Yeah, I did. Oh! I’m Nancy, by the way. District two.”
