Kaminari Denki was a bit of a mess.
He struggled with school work, was still short circuiting during training and never could find what he needed.
His friends knew this and tried to help whenever they could. Keeping extra equipment for him or helping him study. Kaminari was always grateful, he really couldn’t do this without his friends. He made sure to do something special for them once in a while to show them how much he appreciates it.
The only person who didn’t seem to help him much was Bakugo. But he was like that with everyone.

Kaminari Denki loved birthdays and loved to celebrate his friends. Whenever someone’s birthday came up, he was the first to wish them a happy birthday and create the perfect day for them. It was his way of showing he cared for his friends. Even the other students in the class got something thoughtful, Kaminaris kindness was not limited to the Bakusquad.
He waited for the obligatory happy birthday but the group went back to their conversation. Maybe they had something planned for later. Maybe it was a surprise and they were tricking him into thinking they forgot.
Or maybe they just did.

Summary
