Summary
During the late 17th century, in the heart of Paris, it wasn't unusual for executions to be considered a spectacle. For Julian Devilee, a revered artist known for his silver tongue and steady hand, one such spectacle was meant to be just another Sunday ritual.
But when the flames rose higher than expected, so too did the shadows creeping into his well-ordered life. That day, a defiant girl in a soot-streaked hat fled into the chaos, dragging Julian along with her and dismantling his entire world.
