“You’re lucky,” the girl decided, setting her hands on her hips. “Because I can’t pull you out of this anyways. You get a second chance. And a third. And you’ll keep trying until you save my best friend.”
Her throat felt dry. She swallowed hard. “I... what? What do you mean- that wasn’t the deal!”
Cassidy glared at her. “You have to save him. That was what you agreed to do, that’s what you said you’d do.” She moved closer, grabbing her shoulder. “I told you it wasn’t gonna be easy. I told you so.”
Or: Vanessa thought paying the price for her freedom would be as easy as beating up a few bullies. As it turns out, time loops do exist, and springlock failures are difficult to prevent.

Summary
Short stories in order after the security breach took place, featuring the boy with crippling separation anxiety as he adjusts to his new life in the Pizzaplex alongside his overprotective, overenthusiastic, all-around lovable best friend with papa bear tendencies on the side.
This is before Crocodile Rock begins, and before Freddy officially adopts Gregory, but after the day of the breach.
Each chapter is its own short story, but some may be divided into parts with the same chapter title to make it easier to read. By nature, a collection of short stories has the duality of being perpetually in progress and completed at the same time. So, you can enjoy this work without worrying on whether you are reading an unfinished thought or not. :D
