Chuuya's eyes were dark, thoughtful. "No," he said finally. "If it does, that's when you've lost yourself. That's when you become a monster."

Chuuya's smile was sad, soft. "Ask me again in ten years."

"I put a safety net on your neck." Chuuya's hands settled on Dazai's shoulders, turning him so they were face to face. "No one will ever hurt you again, Dazai. Not while I'm breathing."
The words were possessive and protective and terrifying and wonderful all at once. Dazai looked up at Chuuya, at this man who had pinned him to the ground with a knife to his throat and was now putting explosives on his jewellery, and he felt something crack open in his chest.
