Summary
I wrote this while manic after watching the Resistance season one finale. It’s an alternate ending/AU fic for Rise of Skywalker if Rey had gone down a different path and had everybody’s favorite grumpy uncle Maul as her teacher. This is also a Christmas gift to captainmazzic who I had suggested the fic idea to, and who gleefully encouraged me to write it. I wouldn’t love Star Wars as much as I do now if I hadn’t discovered your art Mazzic, so thank you <3

THIS A DEAD DOVE FIC!
It all started with a question from his inquisitive student.
“Hey, Monkey King?”
The ginger simian hummed to answer his student as the younger monkey walked into the kitchen after his shower to get rid of the dirt from his daily activities. He felt the warmth of the other by his side and let out a pleased rumble with having the brunette near him.
“Can I ask you a personal question?” Mk fiddled with his fingers. “It’s okay if you don’t want me to!”
Sun Wukong chuckled as he intertwined his tail with Mk, easing his student’s worries. The smaller one was always adorable when his nerves got, the better of him. “Don’t worry, bud! Remember, you’re allowed to ask me these questions. I don’t mind.”

MK tenses a bit, then immediately relaxes; only someone who was looking for it would be able to tell that he gave any indication of hearing Wukong.
