Summary
It wasn’t his first choice. If it was up to him he would have just taken the six months and got through it. But his mum had cried more tears than he thought she had in her, and she had begged. He’d always had a lot of trouble saying no to his mum when she looked at him like that.
So here he was, taking this ‘plea bargain’. Instead of six months in a juvenile detention centre, he was spending eight weeks in a ‘discipline program’ they had brought in earlier this year. The program was aimed for youths who hadn’t done anything bad enough to go to actual prison, but bad enough to be given a sentence of juvenile detention. They were required to complete the program instead of doing time in Juvie.
