    “That’s too bad. Maybe I could've finally gotten a taste of your delicious cooking again,” Nanami said, rubbing a hand over his face. “I really hate working overtime.”

    You settled into the chair across from him and crossed one leg over the other slowly. “It’s too bad that out of all the days you went overtime, it was the day you were planning to visit me.”

    At that, he raised an eyebrow and smirked. “Is that jealousy I'm hearing?”

    You scoffed, half-laughing. “Jealous? Why would I be jealous?” You then rested a hand on your thigh, and his eyes followed the movement. “Who am I to feel jealous, right? I'm not your girlfriend,” you continued, adding a nonchalant shrug at the end.

    Nanami gave you a hard stare for the next few seconds before he exhaled, raising the wine glass slightly into the air. You won this round. A fizz of adrenaline bubbled up in you—it was always amusing to tease the man like this.
