The man is wearing a pair of boots Aziraphale finds almost outrageous. They’re black suede, and end right over his knees. Their heels are just a little too high, and the suede wraps around lean ankles just a little too cheekily.

Summary
They don’t speak of it – this very different kind of arrangement going on between them – but it’s been a while now. Almost as long as the original arrangement. Whenever the chance arises, they’ll be all over each other. It’s always brief, away from prying eyes, unbearably tender, with so much left unsaid. Crowley doesn’t strictly need to say anything out loud, or hear it – but he would enjoy the freedom to do just so. To put into words the feelings they have for each other.
They can’t. And he accepts it, biding his time.~~~
Crowley brings Aziraphale out for drinks to ease his nerves when an assignment calls for him to present as female.

“I do not!” His nose twitches into a sneer. “Nope. Don’t love anything, not even myssself.”
My poor darling. “You love me.”
“No!”
“You do, Crowley! So much I can practically taste it!”
Crowley scuttles back a bit farther. “How?”
“Angels can sense love,” says Aziraphale. “Had you forgotten?”
“‘S been a while.” Crowley aims for a shrug as his body deflates. “Could’ve changed, besides.”
“Like dust,” Aziraphale continues, “like the way a civilization falls. Like something that once was holy, settling, beautifully burnt.”

After centuries of brushing it off, Aziraphale figures out exactly which emotion he's always sensed from Crowley. Decades later, Crowley finally acts on it.
