Hen’s mouth is wide open, “Wait, so you’re not going to be at the birth?”
Buck raises his palms, brows furrowed, “No? Why would I be? I'm not the boy's father.” The latter end of his statement is bitter, and he can see Eddie flinch out of the corner of his eye. No one corrects his faux pas.
“Wow Buckaroo, where’d the self-restraint come from?” Chim barks out with a dry laugh, nudging Hen in the arm.
The words were out of his mouth before he had a chance to think about it, “I dunno Chim, maybe I siphoned some from you when you punched me in the face.”
…And let it be known, Buck would really appreciate it if his team would stop treating him like a child. Some other things are brought to light in the process.
