Summary
Time travel with the intention to change things is never simple, and what a little machine does not know, cannot know, is that it always breaks things in threes as many things in this world are. There is the original - the one where the travel originated from - there is the success, where the time travel accomplished it’s goal - and there is the catastrophe, where the original problem is so much worse.
So it’d been believed since The Age of Time, but, they supposed, it had never really been tested. Could catastrophe be averted even now? What would Link and Zelda give to find out, to try? He has already risked - and given - his life for Hyrule multiple times, what's once more?

Summary
Hey so it turns out there were two secret stones in that chest (Zelda's and Mineru's), and Zelda only remembered to confiscate the one Purah tested on Link.
Unfortunately for them, Kohga manages to get his hands on it a couple of years later.
Unfortunately for Kohga, his plan to lure in the hero works.
Note: This one's tone is a bit more serious than the last two. Still probably some moments in there and it doesn't get too dark.

It’d been bothering her for some time, and honestly Link simply wasn’t helping. Really she did know he didn’t like to talk, but she definitely thought the question merited more than a guileless shrug. So, on the year anniversary of Ganon's (second) defeat, when meeting with the sages, she finally decided she’d pose the question to them, as they’d fought directly alongside him while he had his stone.
Zelda wonders just what powers the stone gave Link.
