A knife had instantly pierced his chest. The throbbing ache made it impossible to hide his feelings. Though, he can't express them now; not infront of Jade or possible witnesses overhearing their conversation. He mustn't allow the tears change the character he's created over these years tarnish his image.
"I'm certain that this will answer your questions." She allowed him to take a look into the documents. His face shifted from a fragile individual to someone that was experiencing great despair.
"How did you—!"
"It's nothing strange, to be desired, to be chased, to be cut, to be sold... This is the fate of a gem." She glanced at the stone on his desk.
"But why are you showing me this now? Did you know all along?"
"You're the embodiment of a gem. Trust me, I've just uncovered this information; so I'd like to support you and your journey to– revenge."
Revenge. Why didn't he think so earlier?

“And evidently, you need more work in being a presence of comfort.” Aventurine laughed haughtily and sat himself upright. One pat of a hand on the empty space next to him, he gestured for Ratio to sit on the couch which the latter would oblige.
Aventurine needed some unwinding after a long stressful week; what better way than getting fucked stupid by your drop dead handsome partner?
