Summary
Modern AU where the O'Hara's never left London, Declan lost his BBC job and Taggie is trying to keep their life together, and Rupert has an extra home next door to them, mainly where he takes his flings on the down low.
When Rupert's grandfather passes, his will stipulates that Rupert must be married for at least six months time before he can inherit anything. Rupert decides that his young next door neighbor that can't stand him, and is clearly in need of money, is perfect for the job.OR, Rupert needs a wife, Taggie needs money, they agree to six months of the married life.

Rupert is fed up with a lot of things regarding their situation: their limited opportunities for time alone is one thing, but that time seems to be even further constricted by the fact that Taggie is always doing the fucking chores. (Has Maud or Declan ever picked up a sponge before? He highly doubts it.) Vowing to find a loophole, he develops a routine of going over to the O’Hara residence and washing their dishes.

“What on earth is that?” Rupert asks, face pulled in disgust. Taggie scowls at him, clutching the basket closer to her chest as she looks down at the small bundle of fluff it carries.
“That,” she says pointedly. “Is a kitten.”
“Huh,” he says, still uncertain about why is it on my doorstep? “That’s… great.”
Taggie seems to take that as some sort of affirmative and moves past him into the house. She turns and calls back to him from over her shoulder as the dogs sniff at the basket with tails wagging.
“Good, I’m glad you think so because she’s yours now.”
OR: Rupert the dog guy gets his first cat.
