    Summary

You had never expected to come face to face with actual crime when you started to work for rich people. Right up until you were asked to serve at a party and you saw both a wondrous and a horrifying sight: a captive mer.

Beautiful and deadly and kept in a tank, and despite the danger of the situation, despite the fact that he was clearly very capable of killing you if he felt like it, you couldn't turn your back on him. Doubly so when a mer-child was unexpectedly added to the mix.

Really, what were you supposed to do but help them escape and hope you'd survive that experience? And why was that dangerous mer watching you like that?

    ⋆⁺₊⋆ 𓃹 ⋆⁺₊⋆

A dark, hooded figure emerged from the dense snowstorm, growing far too tall as it approached. You shuffled back weakly in the bloodstained snow and winced as you jostled the trap clamped on your boot.

“What is this?” the man’s voice rumbled, muffled behind his mask. “You are…not what I expected to catch today.” He crouched and cupped your cheek reverently, as if you were a tiny creature whose delicate bones would snap at a too-rough touch.

You flinched at first — but he was warm, so warm.

“You are very far from home, aren’t you, Kleines Häschen?” he mused, honeyed words drawn out slowly as you relaxed into his palm. “Come, let me tend to your wound. Rest by my fire, just for a little while.”

The man scooped you up from the snow, unresisting. Sleep whispered sweet temptation as you were cradled to his chest, lulled by the blood loss and his steady steps. You gave in to the beckoning darkness, and allowed your heavy lids to close, like he said—

    just for a little while.

She was built to follow orders.
He was told to keep her in line.
Neither of them expected what came next.

“They said she was just a prototype. No soul, no conscience, no self. Then why the hell is she looking at me like she’s the only one who sees me?”

🟣This story is written in third person POV, but it is still a reader insert, who is only known by the call sign that was assigned, not choosen. No backstory, or physical traits.
If you're looking for a second-person format, this might not be your style — but if you enjoy immersive storytelling with space to self-insert, you’re in the right place. 🖤

    Summary

Small Hiatus as I rework the Main Outline-Will return Summer of 2026
    —————————————————————
In a society that insists it has evolved, Omegas are still treated as liabilities. Managed, monitored, and stripped of autonomy under the guise of protection. Independence comes at a cost, and for one fiercely self-reliant Omega, that cost is steep.

What begins as another situation outside your control turns into an opportunity. The deal is simple: You stay with them under the pretense of courting their pack until the courts rule you no longer requires rehabilitation oversight. In exchange, the team gains the appearance of compliance with Omega welfare policies.

But proximity breeds complications. Beneath the tension lies something harder to define. Loyalty, attraction, and the fragile possibility of trust in a society that punished those who do not have the strength to back it. As external threats close in and internal walls begin to crack from all sides, the balance between performance and genuine connection blurs.
