Jake seemed to see something in her face, because he looked between her and Tuktirey and then shifted closer. “Hey, do you wanna hold her? It looks like she likes you already.”
Her eyes widened, mouth falling agape, before she found her eyes flickering around her in watch of Neytiri. She didn't notice that Jake watched her do this, his own face flickering with something unrecognizable. “Um, I'm not sure if. . .”
“It's okay, Spider,” Jake told her gently. “Here, hold your arms out.”
(Or, female Spider has known from the very beginning that she will never be part of the Sully family, but it doesn't stop her from wanting it desperately.)

OR!!: Spider gradually discovers that she is in love, that she has two mothers and two fathers (one of each is dead… technically), a family bigger than she ever imagined—one that would do anything for her—and a lot about herself that she still doesn’t understand.
