"San Marino, you little bastard, if you called me just to—"
On the other end of the line, however, he didn't hear the usual lively, bright, ringing voice, but rather a faint sob that left him caught between confusion and irritation. Why was that stupid, bratty kid crying? Why had he called him of all people? Did his wife dump him and take the kid?
"R-Romanoooo... whyyyy, Romanooooo..."
His voice, dripping with sorrow—even with that endlessly theatrical flair of his—reached his ear accompanied by an echoing background; he sounded like he was standing in a hallway. Romano, however, had no clue what he wanted from him; San Marino had a bad habit of talking to him as if South Italy could magically guess whatever was spinning around in his head:
"What?! Why are you crying? Did your wife ask for a divorce, you bastard dwarf?" he snapped rudely, hearing him sniffle and continue blubbering without taking a breath.
"No! Never that, my wife loves me! It's... it's terrible... it's terrible! I'm at Vatican's... THE POPE... E' MORTO! V-Vatican was so attached to him... and now he won't speak, Romano!"
San Marino and Vatican City are my OCs; they are related to the Italy brothers.
