Summary
New York is a city of love, if you know where to look.
Peter just hasn't been looking in the right places.
After Doctor Strange's spell erased him from the lives of everyone he knew, Peter is trying to rebuild. MJ and Ned are slowly becoming his friends again, he's reconnecting with people from his past, and he's learning how to be Peter Parker outside the mask.
Then his apartment gets shut off for his landlord's violations, and Frank Castle offers him a place to stay.
What starts as a temporary solution turns into weeks of shared space, late nights, and a friendship that's starting to look suspiciously like something else.
Everyone seems to notice except them.
MJ thinks Peter should ask Frank out. Ned is convinced there's been something between them for ages. Jean tells Peter it's obvious.
Peter and Frank remain firmly committed to being idiots about it.
Then someone gets a little too good a look at Spider-Man and the Punisher together. With Spider-Man's reputation on the line and the threat of exposure hanging over him, pretending Peter doesn't have feelings for Frank gets a lot harder.
Maybe New York really is a city of love. Peter just has terrible timing.
